A live-action television drama version of Yoshiki Nakamura’s Skip Beat! shōjo coming-of-age manga has been announced in a press conference in Taiwan on Monday. The story centers on a teenager named Kyōko who followed her childhood friend Shō to Tokyo as he pursues his show business dreams. Despite playing housekeeper for Shō, Kyōko overhears Shō dismissing her as a boring nobody. Furious, Kyōko vows to also become an actress and “defeat” Shō.
Two idol stars of previous Taiwanese drama versions of shōjo manga will headline this new production. Ariel Lin, the actress who starred in the live-action It Started With a Kiss adaptation of Kaoru Tada’s Itazura na Kiss manga, will play Kyōko. Jerry Yan rose to international stardom in the Meteor Garden drama retelling of Yoko Kamio’s Hana Yori Dango manga, and he will now take on the Skip Beat! role of Kyōko’s acting mentor Ren Tsuruga.

*gets back up again* He’s so hot… I remember the Meteor Garden/ F4 fever that stormed the Philippines and all I did was to KYAAA everytime I saw his poster… He’s just perfect for his role and I can’t wait how will he play Ren!
Ariel Lin is very adorable!!! I wonder how will she portray the fierceeeeee Kyoko since all I knew from her is that she played the main heroine in It Started With A Kiss (Itazura na Kiss) and she’s all dumb-dumb yet cutesy.Will she also cut her hair and dye it? I can’t wait to see that!
I have no idea who will play Shotaro yet but who cares as long as I know that uber-hottie Jerry Yan and the adorable Ariel Lin would be playing both leads (unless there’s Vic Zhou would be getting the role of Sho but I think it’s far from possible XD). I’ll be positive and hope that this would be a good adaptation.

I’ve known about this for six months (well there’s been rumors anyway), but I’m oh so glad to hear it become official.
I always thought Skip Beat! would be well-suited for a drama (I feel so l;lonely since almost no one seems to agree with me!!!), but unfortunately I hardly even follow dramas (Japanese or…anything). So I can’t say anything except “possibly yay~!” (It is good, right? Right!?)

honestly i think that Vic, joe cheng, or mike he would’ve made a better ren. even wu Zun or Hu ge, jerry doesn’t really have the effect of a lang zai ppl only like him cuz he was doumyouji.. they shouldve made jerry and shoji instead than since he always plays the “cold” roles.
it is quite interesting that skip beat wilol become aa live action drama and i’ve known this for awhile but what is really killing me is WHO THE HELL IS GOING TO ACT SHO!?!?!

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! They screwed up Ren’s GOD-LIKE! appearance! I’m sorry Yan-san but you aren’t nearly as gorgeous as REN-SAMA!!!!!!!! Yes Im in love with the drawing instead of the “real person” acting him out. Lin-san is much better to Kyoko’s appearance… but Id prefer BOA KWON! to be Kyoko! ;_; but i know she’s way too busy for that @_@ Who should play ren? …Mizushima Hiro!!!! And his Wifey is soooooooooo cute, well like, they make a really cute couple just by appearance! anyways………Yay Skip Beat!
