Umineko no Naku Koro ni

Umineko no Naku Koro ni takes place in the year 1986, during the time frame of October 4 and October 5 on a secluded island named Rokkenjima. The head of a wealthy family named Kinzo Ushiromiya, who lives on and owns Rokkenjima, is near death, and eight of his family members arrive on the island to discuss how Kinzo’s assets will be divided once he is dead. Also on the island are three family members who live there, five of Kinzo’s servants, and his personal physician. After the eight family members arrive, a typhoon traps them on the island and shortly after people start to get mysteriously murdered.

Tsui: I hope it wouldn’t be as dull as the second season season of Higurashi. And I also wish they would not drag the arcs to lengthen the pacing. That’s what kept me annoyed on Higurashi though. But still, looking forward to this one just like everyone else… and BEATRICE *nosebleeds*

Kanz: Umineko anime’s hype sure is really high, and we really can’t blame the popularity of it. I’ll be checking this one out because it’s really popular… lol. And I also love Higurashi ^^. All characters look MILES better than in the game of course. Battler looks hot XD OMG~

In the story, Saku Ōyagi is a quiet bookworm who moves back to his former hometown as a high school freshman. Despite this, Mihoshi brings Saku into the astronomy club she founded, and this sets the stage for the slapstick romantic comedy that ensues.

Kanz: This series looks cute! I’ll be looking forwad on watching it. Judging by the trailer, it looks already like a breath of fresh air. I must try this one for something light to watch ^^.

Tsui: Genki girls make me weeeak… I’ll be checking out this series too for some slice-of-life. But damn, there seems to be lots of slice-of-life and school genre series lined-up already this season -_-;;

Kanz: It looks nicely done but I’m not interested in this one. Pass.

Tsui: It looks really done nicely judging by the trailer. Might check for a first few eps, but continuing it depends on how it will turn out. But still, sounds like the game this one based on makes it tempting to watch since it’s rated a perfect score of 40/40 on Famitsu.

Tsui: Hey, we also watch other animu even though we’re just too lazy to blog it!

Kanz: Well, it’s either that or it’s just too lame to be blogged. So anywayz, here are what we watched and a quick impression about them.

Hayate no Gotoku ~Second Season~

Tsui: The animation looked worse than the first season but I don’t care.  HINAGIKU IS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111oneoneeleven That’s all I can say this one. Will definitely watch it for Hina fix but not blogging it =P.

Kanz: Hinagiku~~~ But OMG what happened to her bright pink hair? I like the first season’s animation better. I don’t know if I’ll be continuing the second season though so I’m still undecided on this one.

Shangri-la

Tsui: This is quite a disappointment for me IMO. The concept has such a huge potential to be great, too bad it turned out to be… lame. Everything cool in this show only lasted after the awesome OP by May’N. Besides from that, ugh. Everything was dull. Again, disappointed as usual from Gonzo.

Kanz: Yeah. I love the OP *May’N~~* but that’s about it. It’s so sad since I was expecting a lot from this one though after seeing all the character designs, the concept, and the awesome leaked OP. It’s really, ugh. So yeah, it seems like all of their budget was already used only for the OP.

Saki

Tsui: Another one from Gonzo, but this one’s really good! I don’t know what the fuck is mahjong but I learned a bit watching the first episode of this XD! This is fun and bouncy (really bouncy if you know what I mean). Fan-service is fan-service, who complains about it? It’s entertainment! Definitely looking forward for more of this show and possibly might make a post for it.

Tears to Tiara

Kanz: The quality, which I don’t know if it’s from the production or the raw I downloaded, is really bad so I can’t judge this show properly. I got annoyed halfway through the episode because everything’s sooooo dark and it bored me already.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Tsui: Of course, this is the most epic show this season (putting Valkyria Chronicles aside). Everything felt awesome and I never get bored knowing that this is only a remake. This one’s really good. But what? Why am I not blogging it? It’s because I want to give chance on new-NEW  shows this season to get blogged. I’m watching it though, but if you want to see it get blogged episodically, Random Curiosity’s your best friend!

Kanz: I agree. I absolutely love the remake, but I’ll give chance to other shows this season for me to blog. It’s really a good watch though, and it’s worth seeing FMA all over again.

Youth in Bloom

Kanz: Now where do I start with this one? It’s… forgettable. To be really honest, I’m not watching the second episode of this anymore because it didn’t really impressed me, or got me hanging to wait for the next episode. I like the character designs though *bishies~~~* and Kajica’s really pretty. And she’s kinda, bisexual? … But anyway, PASS for this one.

Natsu no Arashi

Kanz: I can’t believe that I just watched this one. I’m not expecting anything from it anymore and I’m glad that I’m not keeping my hopes up high. It’s MEH and it’s not even funny at all for me. Hajime sucks so bad. The girls looked scary and horse-faced (some though), and the 3-1=1 thing is lame and annoying that it annoyed for a lot of minutes the entire episode. Shaft-y as expected from SHAFT, the OP was ridiculous, the overall music was meh. Not watching the second episode, so pass. Bring back Maria+Holic instead.

Tayutama ~Kiss on my Deity~

Tsui: *sigh* This seriously has some issues with the animation quality but never the less, I’ll be checking this one out for the next few eps for some moe fix. Lolis are always win for me.

Other shows planning to watch this season:

Kanz: I’m definitely looking forward to Eden of The East of course. The trailer was just freakin’ awesome and the Honey and Clover roots from the characters are also another reason why I want to check this one out as well. And I also want to see Saki and maybe Polyphonica, which aired already.

Tsui: Yep. Eden of the East. Other than that, I’m honestly on how Hatsukoi Limited anime will turn out. So might be also checking that one for the slice-of-life fix. And for the others that had aired already, I wanna check out Cross Game, since the reviews about that looks good. Oh, and the second season of Haruhi too… Huh? Is that for Summer?

Kanz: Kanzie here at Tsui’s house making this tag team K-On! post! We were actually really fighting over on which of us will blog this one because we both really like it so much. But it ended up calling for a tag-team commentary instead. So bear with our behavior again!!!

Tsui: Yeah, it ended up being a tag-team post in the end, but ugh, I’m kinda feeling sick today, which sucks… but lucky me for having a meido for a day XD. but anyway, K-On! is set the bar really high now for Spring Anime 2009. I enjoyed it very much.

Kanz: Oh yeah, Tsui’s sick ^^. Isn’t that great?! He’ll die soon! Just kidding XP

OP: Cagayake! GIRLS by Toyosaki Aki, Hikasa Youko, Satou Satomi, Kotobuki Minako

Tsui: The OP was really nice. But still, the ED is better. Got nothing more to say about it because it got totally outshined by the ED.

Kanz: Yeah, but I still take note of the cute scenes in the OP. So adorable~ and MOE! It’s really a cute, adorable little way to start off a slice-of-life show.

Kanz: I really love this shot with them leaping out with the sky as the background. All so cute~~

Tsui: Mio looks like Kagamin in there.

Tsui: The moment they had started the show, they have promoted a DVD release already! This is why DVD releases are a MUST. Extra footages ftw.

Kanz: She’s incredibly stupid, ditzy, clumsy and… yeah, ditzy. But it’s so moe~ I think it’s quite cute to have a clumsy lead now instead of the regular tsunderes. So yeah, Yui’s so moe! I think KyoAni’s really that desperate for aiming a win at SaiMoe XD.

Tsui: She’s frikken MOE! Dojikko moe. Her facial expressions are just really funny and cute. It’s really a WTF way to get her into the music club since she looks like she has no passion for music at all for now, so I think there would be some development for her.

Kanz: Light music for Yui in her chibi days…

Kanz: Now this is light music in high school for her.

Tsui: My fever can’t stop increasing with her MOEness.

Tsui: Believe it or not, that’s Kanzeon’s favorite show, everyone.

Kanz: Sooo not! I just recognized that the guy looked like Krauser lol.

Kanz: Yui almost wants to quit the light music club already and say that she really can’t play the guitar at all but Yui’s the type that gets easily bribed by sweets, so it always gets on her way. Btw, it’s another cute, moe face!~

Kanz: Ritsuo’s like, the genki girl of the group. She’s forced Mio along to re-make the light music club. Besides from that, she also has a short patience and she takes advantage so much of her long-time friendship with Mio.

Tsui: So, she’s somewhat having a little of Konata? But not much, though. I lol’d at how she kicked Mio. The moment she did that, I’m all sold by Mio. Lmao at that scene.

Kanz: This is Tsumugi. She got interested in the light music club after having fun watching the bond between Ritsuo and Mio. She’s pretty much like a rich girl. She onle had her first time eating in a fast food. And she’s also having a fancy on tea and pastries.

Tsui: She’s like the Miyuki of the group. Well maybe except without the meganekko and stuff. But damn, eyebrows… O_o.

Kanz: The eyebrows really minded me of UK from Hetalia tbh, as well as her interest for tea too.

Tsui: Maybe eyebrows is becoming an element for moe now?

Tsui: So far as the characters go, Mio’s the coolest~ Just an instant favorite already, and I don’t know why, maybe because she’s the most normal of them all? Oh yeah, I guess I said that already to another Lucky Star character back then, Kagami. She just reminded me so much of her, while Ritsuo’s `Konata-much. So yeah, Mio’s so cool! Especially in the ED, I just thought that she might be getting a spot now in my favorite characters list in this year already.

Kanz: Wow, I can’t believe I’m saying this but I agree with you! I also love Mio! Love as in I’m having a girl-crush on her now. I just noticed also in Beck (and some other rock bands in real life), the coolest person has to play the bass guitar. I really don’t know why XD. But yeah again, back to Mio, she’s really cool and normal and her personality balances the craziness of everyone. She just stands out among everyone in my opinion with her looks ^^. *loves her*

Kanz: So they already showed a tiny peek of what would be more in store for this anime: the music. Since all three of them can really play quite well, I wonder how the clumsy Yui gets to learn. That’s how we’ll know as the series goes I guess. But overall, airport music it is… it’s just like a teaser though, so not so “God Knows” amazing yet.

Tsui: It’s fun to spot some familiar names like Yamaha, Korg Triton and etc. The music is second to the main reason why I’m checking out this show. (well, first is MOE fix). I play the guitar too so I guess this is what had gotten me into this show more.

Kanz: Yeah right Tsui, just brag along with your guitar experience… It’s just unfair because you have an electric guitar at home. Give me one and I’ll pwn you!

Kanz: I have absolutely nothing to say bad about the animation quality. As expected from KyoAni, this show has the best one that I’ve watched so far.

Tsui: Well you might have not yet watched Basquash, because THAT has the best quality imo this Spring yet. The quality is like, on the levels of Lucky Star and Munto (but I’ll pretend that Munto doesn’t exists at all because it’s lame, so scratch Munto). To be really honest, sometimes I thought it’s more of A-1′s Kannagi with the animation. Not Haruhi/Kanon/Clannad best, but still good visuals though.

ED: “Don’t say ”lazy”” by Yoko Hikasa w/ Aki Toyosaki, Satomi Satou and Minako Kotobuki

Kanz: To be really honest, the ED was a mile better than the OP. This had become an instant favorite of mine already. It’s really catchy and the visuals are also good. I love the goth-punk fashion their wearing, which is very in these day and they really do dress the part of being rockstars. I have a little itch on Yui’s outfit design though, it makes her look a bit stout, but whatever (Tsumugi too, because of the fabric choice… oh well ugh lol maybe I’ll stop being a fashion critic right away XD). The video was like an actual music video of a goth-punk band. The concept was stylish and just enjoyable to watch and listen to overall. I really can’t wait for the single to get released! Mio~

Tsui: This had got to be a memorable ED so far in this year already. As expected from KyoAni adapting slice-of-life series, they have to make the OP or the ED real good. The style reminded me of Red Garden and Paradise Kiss, yeah. And going to the characters, the all look hot but Mio steals the ED obviously. So overall, remarkable ED with great visuals, and it really took effort for the animation company to make this one because the characters’ movements while playing the instruments are realistic, rather than “just strumming strings”.

Kanz: So overall, it was a really good first episode. As expected from KyoAni. I set my expectations really low, to be quite honest before watching this one, but I was really amused at how moe it is~ The characters might be recycled, but let’s give them a chance to show more of them. I also have no idea who the seiyuus are, since they look all quite fresh, so more power to them too. I’m looking forward for more of this show.

Tsui: Thanks to K-On!, my sickness had just gotten worse. I won’t blame it, it made me laughed so much, and it’s so moe I have no choice but to melt. Pretty nice as expected from KyoAni. Plus it has a good concept where it catches my interest.

XDDD) So enough joking, I present to you this blog’s founder, as she’ll do… something for this 500th post (hey, I was just asked to give an introduction -_-;;)…

Kanz: Well to be really honest, I wasn’t really expecting that METANORN had come up with 500 nonsensical ramblings, filler posts, and other FIERCE sh*t (and you would never hear me saying the word “fierce” next to the word sh*t, hopefully)!!! So here’s really the long story, when I exported all of our posts from WordPress.com to Kokidokom, all of the posts weren’t really completed because there had been a problem with importing limitations, so there was like, only 300+ posts. But thanks to 53RG10′s awesomeness, he did the file splitting, imported the remaining posts, and finally made my move “complete” ^^. And what I noticed is that when it’s finally finished importing, we have a total of 499 posts!!! but I double-checked and 4 posts were doubled due to the importing, but I deleted them, and post some more, and now it’s 499 again, and this is the 500th ^^ ..So I’m so glad, and thought that this calls for a celebration!!! So as for this very special landmark, we go back in time from the early days of Metanorn, to the day I founded a co-author, and up to this very present time ^^ as they’re summarized to a little TOP 20 list ^^.

The first ever post in here… Which is, I must admit, a very very VERY embarassing thing to share because (besides from the MiXeD cApS title, which is now I totally find uncool), sharing this old post to the present is like sharing your baby photos, you know.. So way back before, this blog was created out of randomness by a bored lass. And while I re-read it again, I lol’d at how bitchy I was (and hell nobody didn’t even cared to comment on my first post T__T), and gave myself a sigh of relief on how much I improved and became real nice(???) now and harmless (so you can now call me a HBIC – Hidden Bitch in a Closet /just kidding XDDD!).

Got too much excited over Persona 4 since it was the only game I’m awaiting for at the PS2′s dying day. And yeah, I’m totally addicted to Persona because of its mythological preferences, school setting, a hawt main character, and it’s interesting gameplay. So one of the most views I get from my blog are these Persona 4 posts as well (too bad the few comments unjustifies them T_T) and I’m a proud Shin Megami Tensei geek. I absolutely love Yousuke, and Rise (which her Persona’s name is the same as me ^^).

I started the very first cycle of Anime’s Next Top Model, with Enma Ai being the first-ever Anime’s Next Top Model. About the project, I thought that it would be like a “hit or miss” for me. I just randomly started it out of boredom to be frankly honest. I was like, “OMGF*CKINGGOD Whitney won on ANTM?! That fat bitch who bashes skinny girls just to get her to the top? UGH!” on the RL ANTM and just randomly imagine what it’s like if Anime would have its very own Top Model? So yeah, Anime-NTM was born ^__^, and I’m proud to say that issa-sa is my loyal follower of it ^^. Thank you very much, issa-sa ^^. And with its simplicity and humble beginnings, I’m so glad that even a few readers enjoyed it.

I also had my first anime that I ever completed on blogging: Vampire Knight (season 1)!!! I must say that this series had been my guilty pleasure a while back then, fangirling Zero and his twin brother, getting tons of hits about twincest yaoi between them and such. And of course, the gems of the show: Shiki and Rima ^^. So yeah, Vampire Knight was so bad, it’s awesome. Now only a few shows counted by a hand are the shows that I had completed in blogging (this and Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, and some OVAs, which shouldn’t be counted… lol) and hopefully, I would manage to get back on per-episode blogging on summer vacation.

Made my 100th post… So yeah, little celebration and stuff with my little audience before… But so happy ^^.

Made an anime adaptations wishlist from my favorite mangas. Now I’m dying to update it since I have encountered more manga series that has potential to be an anime ^__^. And also speaking of manga, I always put up the latest manga that I’m raving about.

Created my Absolute Anime OPs and EDs when there were no classes (Thank God for tropical typhoons). Now they’re separated in a page under Chart Action but it’s still under construction because I’m updating my list.

Geez, this one makes me mad. Got in a f*cking horrible hiatus when my very first blog got deleted on WP.com for no f*cking reason at all. I still thought that they had mistakenly deleted it because if ever I did something wrong, I exactly exported every post on my second blog and it wasn’t even deleted. And for the last time, F*CK YOU WORDPRESSDOTF*CKINGCOM!!!  It’s all your fault why I cannot celebrate blog anniversaries T__T!!!

Then there’s my Code Geass R2 Finale post and it got the most views from my WP.com blog. It’s also one of the reasons why I’m glad I had moved, because I thought it’s very undeserving to get all those views from this crappy post.

Halloween was definitely fun. I made a tricky, Kuroshitsuji Gothic-styled banner with added optical illusions. Definitely one of my favorite banners of all time ^__^. The succeeding banners had been Halloween-themes as well. And I also presented Anime WTF Moments for Halloween .

Reached the 300-post milestone and finally decided to get some help from someone. I dragged my high school seatmate along to help me with blogging. He’s now know as “Tsuiteru” or most often, I call him “Tsui”. But still as you can see, we still haven’t gotten more anime in here to blog so yeah… bad idea to hire a classmate XP can’t blame school, you know. But still, I gained a friend who shares your hobby and who’s so fun to hang out with, and we are currently dating now . He had been a very loyal dog to me, and even though we have lots of some misunderstandings and he’s quite a pervert, I love him so much ^^.

And for Tsui, I think the most memorable he had done was when he made an epic post about 200+ Life Lessons you learn from anime. That was such a very funny (and freaking long!) post XDD. So that gives him this very special 12th spot in this Top 20.

Started drawing Anime Bloggers Being Manga-fied and I appreciated all the kind feedbacks. I really just discovered my talent to draw just that moment when I am bored, so I must really say that boredom bears so much great things. And now after some more characters and counting as of the moment, the webcomic, which was later named as “META☆ALLIANCE”, was born, as it tackles different random stories of manga-fied bloggers in random situations for the lulz. From shopping and the search for Aniblogger’s Next Top Mascot (and Baka-Raptor being a real-life bishie) to the webcom where Omisyth being tsundere tearing up bunnies despite blissmo‘s great pleasure to watch them. I’m really excited for making more webcomics when I have time ^^. So watch out for the next one!

And Anime’s Next Top Model 2 was announced. With finally it’s own OP sequqence, a new unique batch of fierce and competitive female anime characters, and a huge improvement of course. And (ok, I’ll be a boastful bitch for a second, excuse me…) among all those second-rate copycats out there scattered on youtube etc, they can’t match the fiercess. I’m still the best and the original Anime’s Next Top Model queen. I mean, come on, REAL competition baby; photos made by yours truly, and an actual panel with snarky remarks. While no offense to some youtube Anime-ntm videos, they like, only put up different pictures they could find on google, put them in a slideshow and make 10 or less people vote (ok, bitch mode off…). So now that this cycle will be ending soon after a few days, watch out for the finale!!! And once there would be an upcoming third season announcement, I’ll definitely make sure that I would improve it more ^^.

Tsui made an emo post on how he misses me when I was gone for the New Year XDDD~ When I got back and saw this post, I like, assaulted him at school and gave him a huge “baka”, lol. But I’m really sorry for not being able to be online and make a special post for that New Year because I celebrated and went with my other relatives. It was no choice at all, so sorry again, but on a last note, Tsui was sweet ^^ aww.. Lol. Moved on KOKIDOKOM!!! Haha~ Bayba Wp.Com and hellooo freedom!!! Well, I was supposed to move somewhere else but I got so fed up with the rudeness and disrespect that had given to me, and Shichi knows it ^^. And then he started Kokido Kombine. I want to express a HUGE “Thank You” to 7/Shichi/Vii/Seiben/or many other nicknames/personas he has. He’s such a great person and had always been there when I need help not only on CSS, FTP, irc and stuff, but also on giving some RL advices as well (you do! ^__^ not kidding). Also now being a proud member of the Kombine, I am now able to experiment more on my creativity. From being as cool as black to being pretty-pure white, I experimented, struggled and experimented XDDD…

And then I officially named my webcomics as META☆ALLIANCE. And then Fuyu, Amayalee and I were 7′s Angels [part 1, part 2] and were on a task to save the Anime Princess Lostty ~oh that was so fun ^__^. I’m definitely making more webcoms soon this summer vacation so watch out for the next one ^^.

And of course, my fangirlings. I posted my most favorite kissing scenes ever on anime for something this Valentines, even though I had a really sad one T__T. I also fangirled Hetalia Axis Powers up until now. I just loved it from the moment I saw it. The concept was genius, fantastic and hilarious. I also shipped so much countries together, posted crazy MADs, even generated my very own family, and of course, made banners. Other series that I majorly squeeled into  and absolutely adored so much are Kuroshitsuji, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, D.Gray Man (for Lavi’s sake only) and of course, Ookiku Furikabutte ^^.

People also get to my blog for… Music, of course, and from J-Pop to the American music scene, everyone’s updated. Found the perfect weekly filler posts to blog about: THE ORICON CHARTS XDDD!!! I really want to thank youtube channels of OriconGoddess and cdtv8 since they’re the ones who are keeping us all updated, I just post ‘em here… lolXD. And recently, I also had my newest feature which is to post the Top 50 Singles as well on the Billboard US Charts ^^. Music is life~

KANZ: So that’s how I could shorten METANORN’s first 500 posts into a Top 20 XD… I guess what determined us so much is our imperfection, and enthusiasm to blog. As long as we love what Tsui and I are doing, what could make us stop, right? Whatever I want to post, I’ll post it. And I also excuse this because it’s like an anniversary post, but I consider it as one… Yeah. It’s because there’s no certain date when I started this blog, so I guess I’ll just celebrate it by post number (yeah, what a pitiful blog this is T__T lol)…

So about what would you get to see more on the upcoming posts? I’m trying to work on making some icons and wallpapers (for PSP and desktop) because I remember making some before, and there was so much good feedback, so I’m planning on making more.

Another one is a Novel Project. Yeah, it’s becoming a trend nowadays lol but I really had a concept way back before and I think it’s about time I would share it to everyone. So yeah, keep your eye on that one ^^. And I’ll definitely try something new like making AMVs and stuff.. lol yeah, I have lots of time this summer, so it would be a great opportunity for me to learn how to make AMVs ^^.

Oh, and MOAR WEBCOMICS!!! XDDDDD~~~ I’m also adding some more characters in META ALLIANCE and I had made two new characters for the webcomics in the moment ^__^ (just watch out for them both in the upcoming chapters ^^).

TSUI: My upcoming plans would be my own version of my Favorite OPs and EDs. Just like everyone, there are a lot of anime OP and ED sequences that I found really amazing, and I would really like to share them.

And also… I’ll be making a “How to make your blog more popular/get more hits from AnimeNano/or something” post XD. Plus I really feel the urge to do something on April Fools .

And most of all, I’m exercising my creativity (if ever I have some -_-). Yeah, it’s embarassing to be next to this girl who is amazingly creative and wickedly awesome. And I already started now by making METANORN’s very first banner MADE BY MOIIII!!!! *pops confetti* So yeah, I’m proud to say that this Persona 4 banner is the thorn among the roses. I stole a fanart, then add text to their shirts, used a gif maker and that was the result! It may not be that great like what kanzie does, but I’m still glad that it got accepted to be displayed XD. So please tell me what you think (*is prepared for the boos and bricks thrown*)

Kanz: Btw, we also ordered the shows as OAVs/Specials airing this March, OAV/Specials airing on April & May, and the anime series, which mostly airs on the month of April.

Kanz: AGAIN due to severe boredom and plenty of time but no money anymore for hanging out and no lessons to study yet, Tsui and I are randomly playing with my G-Pen at my house. I drew a small little creature inspired from Digimon/Pokemon/Monster Rancher/whatever the hell it came from and this random drawing turned out to be extremely cute…

Tsui: Wow it’s been a while since we did this type of post format Kanz, lol. So, yeah.. I made a bada** looking one but Kanz didn’t approve of it, so I have no choice but to follow her. (I’m such a poor slave ;_;). But we thought that why shouldn’t we make it the guard of this castle? Or just the plain ol’ mascot for Metanorn… It might look cute and tiny but we know that this sure secretly packs a huge punch within!

Kanz: But there’s one problem though… this cute little pink-thingy-with-wings has no name yet… Both Tsui and I have awful taste on naming… But we tried our hardest to come up with these results… So can you help us decide on which name best fits this random creature? ^_^
