We already posted the Summer line-up in the new METANORN, and I guess I’ll just share it in here also for those who are still aren’t aware. Here’s a taste of what’s in store this Summer!!!
Umineko no Naku Koro ni

Umineko no Naku Koro ni takes place in the year 1986, during the time frame of October 4 and October 5 on a secluded island named Rokkenjima. The head of a wealthy family named Kinzo Ushiromiya, who lives on and owns Rokkenjima, is near death, and eight of his family members arrive on the island to discuss how Kinzo’s assets will be divided once he is dead. Also on the island are three family members who live there, five of Kinzo’s servants, and his personal physician. After the eight family members arrive, a typhoon traps them on the island and shortly after people start to get mysteriously murdered.
Tsui: I hope it wouldn’t be as dull as the second season season of Higurashi. And I also wish they would not drag the arcs to lengthen the pacing. That’s what kept me annoyed on Higurashi though. But still, looking forward to this one just like everyone else… and BEATRICE *nosebleeds*
Kanz: Umineko anime’s hype sure is really high, and we really can’t blame the popularity of it. I’ll be checking this one out because it’s really popular… lol. And I also love Higurashi ^^. All characters look MILES better than in the game of course. Battler looks hot XD OMG~

Sora no Manimani

Seiyuu: Kanae Itō as Mihoshi Akeno, Tomoaki Maeno as Saku Ooyagi
In the story, Saku Ōyagi is a quiet bookworm who moves back to his former hometown as a high school freshman. He meets his childhood friend, Mihoshi Akeno , although a traumatic incident long ago had left their friendship in an awkward state. Despite this, Mihoshi brings Saku into the astronomy club she founded, and this sets the stage for the slapstick romantic comedy that ensues.
Kanz: This series looks cute! I’ll be looking forwad on watching it. Judging by the trailer, it looks already like a breath of fresh air. I must try this one for something light to watch ^^.
Tsui: Genki girls make me weeeak… I’ll be checking out this series too for some slice-of-life. But damn, there seems to be lots of slice-of-life and school genre series lined-up already this season -_-;;

Kanz: Do y’all know that Nana Mizuki will sing the OP for his one? For that reason only, and whatever this show is about, I’ll be checking this out!!! NANA-SAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!111one And the main guy looks like Kukai from Shugo Chara XD. KUKAAAIIII!!!
Tsui: Three syllables: Yu-Gi-Oh.
Kanz: LOL if ever it’s gonna be like that… >__> ugh. But still, watching the first (or second) episode for the Nana Mizuki OP.

The modern-day story centers on a present-day story about a detective, a young man, a virus researcher, a, and a cat mascot character who are brought together in the Tokyo neighborhood of Shibuya by bizarre events with worldwide implications.
Kanz: It looks nicely done but I’m not interested in this one. Pass.
Tsui: It looks really done nicely judging by the trailer. Might check for a first few eps, but continuing it depends on how it will turn out. But still, sounds like the game this one based on makes it tempting to watch since it’s rated a perfect score of 40/40 on Famitsu.

The one I’m really wondering about is Umineko, since I’m not sure if I should play the bits of the game that were translated first. It’s always easier to have faith in the anime but I don’t want to end up regretting it…
